Description

Taking deposits of $500 now for 2 males and 1 female

Fenloch Golden Cricket x Fenloch Black Jack :

Expecting larger, leggy, "Cadillac" dogs- as in reliable, easy to handle by anyone comfortably, beautiful to look at, and handles great! Cricket IS an AMS CARRIER- meaning that she herself does not have the disorder, but COULD POSSIBLY pass that single gene to her offspring- meaning that they too could be a CARRIER only! She will ONLY be bred to bonafide tested CLEAR stud dogs. Her litters will also be tested prior to placement so that those dogs going to potential breeding homes will get a choice of either Clear or Carrier- those looking for a great hunting dog with no plans on breeding will get Limited Registration (non breeding registration) and will pick from the carriers if any.

Cricket-
35lbs and 16 1/2 inch at shoulder- built solid and stocky but in a moderate square frame. Longer full coat. She is a dynamo outside and a marshmallow in the house and kennel. She is also quiet !! 🙂
OFA hips Good
OFA elbows Normal
OFA patellas Normal
OFA CAER eyes Normal
Genetically Clear PRA-cd, FN
AMS Carrier

Jack-
38lbs and 17 1/2-18 inchs at the shoulder- yes, he is an "over sized" cocker that is closer to the size of a female springer. He is also a gentle giant, very mellow dog, gets along with any dog and LOVES kids. He too is a quiet dog in the kennel. He is tall, longer bodied, lean, and could easily handled retrieving a goose. He is also "easy on the eyes" with a full, longer coat. He has had one litter on the ground and as they are all showing phenomenal promise, we decided to keep Jack around for a couple more litters.
OFA Prelim hips (will be getting finals in spring) Good
OFA Prelim elbows (will be getting finals in spring) Normal
OFA patellas Normal
OFA CAER eyes Normal
Genetically Clear PRA-cd, FN, AMS

đŸ¶ Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
