Description

Brittany Pups up for discussion

Dusty/Hank

Dusty (KC Diamond Dust) she has been a very nice dog from a young age. She is very fast and covers ground extremely well. She does an awesome job at following her nose and won’t leave birds behind. She will run as big as you like. She started out her career running in horseback field trials. Now she is my personal hunting dog and companion. She has a a lot of style on point and definitely doesn’t disappoint while on point. Very smart and easy to train. Handles like a dream. She comes from a long line of proven dogs in field trials.

Hank (NAFC DC GFC GAFC2 AFC ANJs Ohio Hellion)

From Hanks owner-Hank is a naturally forward running dog-if he’s not in front, he’s pointed somewhere. He handles the heat and cold well - it’s never been an issue for him in competition. He has an excellent nose and lofty style on point with great intensity. He is a dual champion, true all age dog-not a lot of those around.

Hank has won the national amateur all-age championship twice in his career, 2018 and again in 2025. He has amassed 18+ hour wins/placements.

He is throwing excellent noses, drive, intelligence and biddability in his pups, who also have his ground speed and stamina. They are natural bird finders and naturally back. I currently own and campaign three of his pups. Two females ages seven and five are both field champions. My young derby dog is currently being broke and he has both puppy and derby wins and will be competing in broke dog stakes this fall.

All of his pups that I have had my hands on have calm temperaments; all of mine live in the house with us. They are not barkers and are generally silent even on stake out at Field Trials.

This is a repeat breeding that has produced some very nice dogs from akc trials to being personal hunting dogs. They will do anything you ask of them and have been extremely smart. Extremely easy to work with and train. Always working to please and very loving dogs. Plenty of energy outside but have an excellent off switch when inside. These pups with have a lot of natural talent that will impress you.

Hank Ofa good on hips and normal on elbows

Dusty OFA good on hips

All pups will come with 30 month hip and health guarantee. And all up to date on shots.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
